Novo Concertante Manila
Arwin Tan, conductor
The Novo Concertante Manila, originally formed in 1998 as a recital choir of Arwin Tan, is composed of young professionals and students from Metro Manila, bound by their common love for music. The choir aims to achieve the highest ideals of musical excellence to further the cause of peace, mutual understanding, and goodwill. In dedication to this aim, the choir has proven successful in international choral competitions and has been invited to international and local choral festivals.
Another goal of the Novo Concertante Manila is to promote and propagate the high art of choral singing. This is continuously being realized through the choir's involvement with choral conducting students of the University of the Philippines serving as laboratory choir in their recitals, and through constantly experimenting on new choral works by established, as well as emerging composers.
Both professional conductor and the amateur singers of the Novo Concertante Manila continue to reinvent the choir as they develop a sound that is "artistically intelligent."
